UNUM Challenge
Pirates vs. Sharks for the Good of our Communities
The 4th Annual UNUM Challenge between the Portland Pirates and the Worcester Sharks
will take place over the eight-game regular season series during the 2009-10 season. At each game in each
city, one lucky fan will be chosen from the submitted entrees as the UNUM Challenge Fan of the Game.
Each fan will win a replica jersey and receive five (5) tickets to a future game.
Fans have the opportunity to guess how many total shots will be taken throughout the eight-game UNUM Challenge. At the end of the series, all the fans who guessed the correct shot total will win a Pirates jersey and a gift bag from Unum. Last season, the correct number of shots was 535.

November 18 @ Worcester, 5-3 Pirates win
November 20 @ Portland, 3-1 Pirates win
December 6 @ Worcester, 3-2 Sharks Shoot Out win
December 31 @ Portland, 3-1 Sharks win
January 10 @ Worcester, 6-5 Sharks Overtime win
January 15 @ Portland, 7-1 Pirates win
February 24 @ Worcester, 3-1 Sharks win
April 11 @ Portland, 4 p.m.
After the Portland Pirates won the first two Unum Challenges in 2007 and 2008, the Pirates and Sharks
split the UNUM Cup for the first time in the history of the event in 2008-09 as the two temas split the
series. In 2009, Logan Jordan was the closest to the correct shot total and was awarded the Grand
Prize, a Portland Pirates jersey and many more prizes from Unum.
As part of the Pirates success in UNUM Challenge in 2009, the Cumberland County Civic Center and UNUM will
present a check to the Portland Pirates Foundation for $2,500.
