Unum Challenge Update
In the first game of the 2007-2008
Unum Challenge on Saturday, October 13 at the DCU center, Worcester's Tom Cavanuagh,
Mike Iggulden and Nate Raduns all had goals for the Sharks as they earned in a 3-2
win over the Portland Pirates.
In the second game on Friday, October 26 at the
Cumberland County Civic Center, Portland's Andrew Ebbett scored the game-winning
goal in overtime as the Pirates stunned the previously unbeaten Sharks, 3-2.
Brian Salcido and Bobby Ryan also added goals to help deliver the win.
In the third game on Saturday, November 17th
at the DCU Center, Bobby Ryan lead the Portland Pirates with two goals in their
5-3 victory over the Worcester Sharks. Portland's Geoff Platt and Jason King also
added goals to help the Pirates earn the win.
In the fourth game on Saturday, December 1st
at the Cumberland County Civic Center, Bobby Ryan again lead the Pirates with
two goals in a 6-3 win over the Worcester Sharks. Stephen Dixon, Geoff Platt,
Ryan Carter, and Brett Festerling all added a goal apiece in the Pirates's victory.
In the fifth game on Friday December 21st at the
Cumberland County Civic Center, the Portland Pirates snapped Worcester's four game
winning streak with a 3-2 victory. Brendan Mikkelson and Geoff Platt each netted a
goal for the Pirates, as well as Michal Birner, his first as a Pirate.
In the sixth game on Saturday December 22nd at the
Cumberland County Civic Center, Worcester's Patrick Traverse, Nate Raduns, and Mike
Igguiden tallied a goal each in regulation. In sudden death overtime Dan Spang scored
to give the Sharks a 4-3 victory.
