Portland Pirates Hall of Fame, presented by Unum

Hall of Fame Ballot

Portland Pirates Hall of Fame Ballot The Portland Pirates' Hall of Fame presented by Unum was founded in 1999, the year in which its three charter members were inducted: Andrew Brunette, Byron Dafoe and Olaf Kolzig. The Hall of Fame was created to honor those individuals who had played a significant role in Pirates' history, both on and off the ice, and who have excelled in their careers in hockey.

In order for a player to be eligible, he must have skated in at least 40 Pirates' games and, at the time of his induction, have been at least one year removed from playing for the club.

Please cast your vote for one of this year's three nominees. Results will be tabulated, and the newest inductee will be honored in an on-ice ceremony on Saturday, March 10, 2012 during the 7:00 p.m. game against the Manchester Monarchs.

Voting will conclude on Friday, February 24, 2011. One vote per person, please.

2011 Pirates Hall of Fame Ballot
Hall of Fame Candidates:

Patrick Boileau

Patrick Boileau was a dynamic offensive defenseman who maintained consistent numbers throughout his career. A strong leader on the ice, Boileau helped lead the Pirates to the Calder Cup playoffs in five of the seven seasons that he was in Portland. Boileau is found throughout the Pirates record book in various offensive categories, and still holds the record for most goals by a defenseman with 17 during the 2001-02 season. He currently ranks 2nd in all-time games played in Pirates history with 459, 5th in points with 206, 6th in assists with 143, and 12th in goals with 63. Boileau was a Pirates Hall of Fame nominee in 2011. He was selected 69th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft and spent parts of five seasons in the NHL (Washington 1996-97, 98-99, 01-02; Detroit 2002-03; Pittsburgh 2003-04) playing in 48 games with 16 points (5-11-16). Boileau now serves as the Director of Hockey for the Joel Bouchard Hockey Academy in Boisbriand, Quebec. He resides in Boisbriand with his wife Caroline, his son Samuel, 11, and his daughter Laurieane, 9.

Brad Church

Brad Church played a total of six seasons in Portland as a hard-nosed winger who would never give up on a play. Church endeared himself to Pirates fans with his never-say-die attitude. His total of 402 career penalty minutes ranks him 9th all-time in Pirates history. An assistant captain for two seasons, Church's career total of 281 games played is the 6th most of any player in franchise history. He was voted by the team's fans as the Pirates Unsung Hero for the 1999-2000 season. Church was drafted 17th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He played two NHL games in his career, both for Washington, during the 1997-98 season. After his playing career ended in 2006, Church spent parts of three seasons as the head coach of the ECHL's Phoenix Roadrunners from 2006-09. He is now the General Manager for the Portland Junior Pirates Junior A club. He now resides in Cumberland with his wife Kristin and three sons, Lucas, 11, Dean, 9, and Weston, 4.

Ferraro was named Co-Captain of the PlanetUSA All-Stars for the 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic, played in Portland. Along with his twin brother Chris, Peter was named Most Popular Player for the 2002-03 season by Pirates fans.
