Athletic Trainer
Mike Booi joins the Pirates for his first season as the Pirates Athletic Trainer. The 29-year old native of Lake Odessa, MI completed his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University, earning a degree in Kinesiology and received his Master's Degree in Athletic Training at the University of Kentucky where he worked with the Wildcats football team. Booi spent last season in the ECHL with the Greenville Road Warriors. Prior to his time in Greenville, Booi worked for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga as the Athletic Trainer for the school's wrestling program. Booi will administer and oversee all player related medical duties for Portland and assist the Phoenix Coyotes with medical services during the NHL training camp period.
