Goals For Success
Now in its seventh year, Goals For Success
presented by Healthy Maine Partnerships, Aquafina and "Let's Go" is a school-assembly program
which educates students in grades K-8 about the importance of setting goals, making
good decisions and living a healthy lifestyle. Two Pirates' players, along with
the team's broadcaster, speak with groups of 100 or more in schools throughout
the greater Portland area. In seven years, over 10,000 students have been touched
by this program.
Children's Museum of Maine
The Children's Museum of Maine is ranked 14th out of the top 50 in the
country by Children Magazine. The Museum offers exhibits and programming
for children of all ages. The Portland Pirates and The Children's Museum
of Maine collaborate to offer activities and pre-game parties for Pirates
fans and Museum members throughout the year. The Pirates are also the
exclusive sponsor of the museum's outdoor ship exhibit.
Portland Pirates Hockey Schools
The Portland Pirates Hockey Schools,
conducted by the Portland Junior Pirates staff, consists of a wide range of programs covering skill development, training/conditioning, skating,
and team tactics, and provide top quality instruction in a supportive learning environment
to assist players and coaches at all levels to meet and exceed their hockey goals with
an emphasis on skill development and fun.
In the past five years, over 600 players have participated in the Pirates Hockey
Schools in Portland and Biddeford.
