| LAMOUREUX STOPS 32 IN STARRING PERFORMANCE |
Portland, Maine - Nathan Gerbe scored a goal and an assist to lead the Portland Pirates to a 3-1 win over the Worcester Sharks in an American Hockey League game played tonight in front of 3,822 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
Jeff Cowan and Philip Gogulla also scored for the Pirates while JP Lamoureux turned aside 32 shots in a first star performance. Tyler Ennis added two assists as the Pirates posted back-to-back victories for the first time this season and swept the home-and-home set against the Sharks to move to 8-10-2-0 on the season. The Pirates have also collected at least one point in the standings in each of their last five games 3-0-2-0.
Torrey Mitchell netted the lone goal for the Sharks, who suffered their seventh straight loss and are now 8-10-0-1.
The Pirates led 1-0 after one and 2-1 heading into the third.
The Sharks out shot the Pirates 33-21 in the game.

The Pirates complete the week tomorrow (Saturday) at 7 p.m. when the Norfolk Admirals make a return visit to the CCCC. The Pirates welcome the newest professional sports team in Portland, the Maine Red Claws NBA Development Team. Come meet the players, the Sun Tan City Dancers and the mascot, “Crusher”, before they embark on their inaugural season.
