Andrew Brunette played 264 career games with the Pirates between the years of 1993 and 1998, and led the club in scoring during his final three seasons in Portland. A member of the Pirates’ 1994 Calder Cup celebration, he left the team following the 1997-98 season as their all-time leader in many offensive categories. His Pirates’ career totals were as follows: 110 goals, 224 assists, 334 points and a 1.27 points-per-game average. Brunette ’s four points in one period on 1/10/96 and his five-assist game on 12/27/96 were team records at the time. He was selected to play in three AHL All-Star Games while wearing a Portland sweater - 1996, 1997 and 1998, and was named to the AHL’s Second All-Star Team in 1995. Brunette played 62 NHL games with the Capitals, recording 18 goals, 22 assists and 40 points, before being selected by former Pirates’ coach Barry Trotz and the Nashville Predators in the 1998 NHL Expansion Draft. In 77 games with the Predators, he tallied 11-20=31 totals. Brunette has also played with two other expansion teams—the Atlanta Thrashers and the Minnesota Wild.
