Portland Pirates Sign Kyle Hagel to AHL Contract
Portland, Maine – Phoenix Coyotes Assistant General Manager and Portland Pirates General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that the Portland Pirates have signed left wing Kyle Hagel to an AHL deal for the 2013-14 season.
Hagel, a 6 foot 1, 210 pound native of Hamilton, Ontario, spent the entire 2012-13 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, scoring 2 goals and adding 4 assists with 172 penalty minutes in 67 games. Hagel has spent parts of 5 seasons in the American Hockey League, playing in 163 games for Rochester, Rockford, Peoria, and Hamilton, registering a career high 245 penalty minutes during the 2010-11 season with the IceHogs. The 28 year old Hagel also spent parts of two seasons in the ECHL after completing 4 years of college hockey with Princeton.
The Pirates have released six guaranteed dates, including Opening Night on October 12th at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée in Lewiston.
