Portland, Maine - The Portland Pirates will wear special Stars and Stripes jerseys, sponsored by Martin's Point Health Care, to honor our nation's veterans on Saturday, November 8th. Veterans Day is being observed nationwide on Tuesday, November 11th.

The Pirates will take on the Philadelphia Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. in the Cumberland County Civic Center wearing the one-of-a-kind jerseys. The jersey of the night will be a Stars and Stripes jersey worn by Pirates defenseman Mike Weber in pregame warm-ups. Raffle tickets for the jersey of the night may be purchased during the game; prices are $2 for one ticket, $5 for three, $10 for seven and $20 for 15 tickets. The winner will be announced in the third period.

Fans will also have the opportunity to bid on game-worn Stars and Stripes jerseys in the two weeks following the game. The jerseys will be auctioned off at portlandpiratesstore.com starting Monday, November 10th and ending Monday, November 17th. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Portland Pirates Foundation.
