Portland, Maine - As part of the Lewiston MAINEiacs & Portland Pirates efforts to further hockey in the state of Maine, the Lewiston MAINEiacs will be playing two games at the Cumberland County Civic Center, the home of the Portland Pirates. The MAINEiacs will be playing the Québec Remparts on Friday, December 5 & Saturday, December 6 at 7:00 PM.

The Québec Remparts will be led by their Owner and Head Coach Patrick Roy. Roy is a QMJHL alumnus who played for the Granby Bisons (currently the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles) from 1982 -1985. From there, Roy moved on to the NHL where he played for the Montréal Canadians and Colorado Avalanche from 1984-2003. During his time in the pros, Roy won four Stanley Cups. Last month, Coach Roy had his number 33 retired by the Montréal Canadians. The Colorado Avalanche retired Roy’s number in 2003.

Pirates fans will get the chance to see the future of their team with Buffalo Sabres prospects Benjamin Breault and Jean-Simon Allard skating for the Remparts on December 5 & 6. Breault was drafted by the Sabres in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, and currently leads the Remparts with the most points on the team notching 16 goals and 18 assists so far this season. Allard was taken by the Sabres in the 2007 NHL Draft and is fifth best on the Remparts roster in points with 8 goals and 14 assists.

The MAINEiacs will be saluting the Maine Mariners back-to-back AHL Calder Cup championships by wearing replica Mariners jerseys on Saturday, December 6. The jerseys will be given away as a part of the MAINEiacs "Shirts Off Our Back's Nights" series. Former Mariners will be on hand for the celebration.
