Steve Rex
Chief Sales Officer, Portland Pirates
Director of Project Management, Front Row Marketing Services

Steve Rex joined the Pirates on April 24, 2006 as the club's Chief Sales Officer. In this position, Rex is primarily responsible for the Pirates corporate sales strategy and execution. In addition to corporate sales and marketing, Rex will also be helping with the servicing of season ticket holder accounts.

Rex was appointed the Director of Project Management of Front Row Marketing Services when the Pirates and Front Row partnered up in a sales and marketing relationship on October 12, 2007. In his new position with Front Row, Rex will direct and manage the Pirates corporate sales business with Pirates Managing Owner/CEO Brian Petrovek.

Before joining the Pirates, Rex worked for the Portland Radio Group from August 2003 to April 2006. As the Assistant Sales Manager, he was responsible for selling advertisements and sponsorships for stations within
the Portland Radio Group: 93.1 WMGX and Oldies 100.9 FM.

Before the Portland Radio Group, Rex gained six years of sales experience in Philadelphia, PA. From 1997-2003, Rex was an Account Executive for the Ad Sales Department of Comcast Spectator, which includes the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL club), the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA club), the Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL club), the Philadelphia Wings (NLL club), the Philadelphia Kixx (USSF club), the Wachovia Center, the Wachovia Spectrum and Comcast SportsNet. At Comcast Spectator, he was responsible for the prospecting, developing and selling integrated partnerships consisting of television, radio, signage, internet, print and promotions.

Prior to his employment at Comcast Spectator, Rex worked at KYW Newsradio 1060 AM as the Director of New Business Development where he was responsible for generating incremental revenues from special programming. Rex developed his strong selling qualities in Philadelphia as an Account Executive at 92.5 WXTU-FM from 1986-1989 and as an Account Executive for 98.1 WGOL-FM. He also was an Account Executive for 1210 WGMP-AM selling for the Philadelphia Phillies Radio Network from 1989-1994

In 1986, Rex received his bachelor's degree in communications from Villanova University in Villanova, PA.

A native of Chatham, New Jersey, Rex now lives in Gorham with his three children, Kelsey, Brian and Matt.
