THE PIRATES ADVANCE TO THE EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS!

In an exciting Game 6, the Portland Pirates got two goals from Jason King in a 5-4 win over the Providence Bruins on Friday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The Pirates will face the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Friday's game marked the Pirates 107th Calder cup playoff game franchise history. It was the third consecutive game J.S. Aubin has made 30 or more saves. Aubin is 8-1 in the playoffs and hasn't suffered a defeat since Game 1 of the Atlantic Division semifinals at Hartford on April 16th.

The Pirates will take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, who defeated the Philadelphia Phantoms by a score of 3-1 at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza on Friday Night. With the win, the Penguins claimed the series in five games. The Pirates posted a 1-1-0-0 record against the Penguins this season, beating them 2-1 at home on January 25 and dropping a 3-0 decision on the road February 8.

The Eastern Conference Finals series, which will follow a 2-3-2 format, will open in Wilkes-Barre with Games One and Two slated for Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15. The full Eastern Conference Finals schedule is listed below.
